How this is worked out

College Board publishes a raw→scaled conversion table with each of its linear practice tests, and every table is slightly different — equating is what makes an easier form and a harder one comparable, so the curve belongs to the form rather than to the SAT. No table has ever been published for the adaptive digital format, because Bluebook scores those with an item-response model instead.

So this takes the closest official curve there is — Practice Test #4, © 2023 College Board — and reads your raw score onto it proportionally. That assumes the two forms are equally hard and equally spread, which is exactly the assumption equating exists to avoid making. It is a good estimate and it is not a score, which is why the likely range is printed beside it rather than hidden.

Percentiles are College Board's user percentiles — the share of 12th-grade test takers from the past three graduating classes who scored at or below that mark. The three-year average is from the same source. Neither is computed from our own students.
