The Digital SAT format, explained

The Digital SAT is a shorter, adaptive, computer-based test scored from 400 to 1600. Here's how it's structured.

Two sections

The test has two sections — Reading & Writing and Math — each scored from 200 to 800. Your total score is the sum of the two.

Adaptive modules

Each section is split into two modules. Your performance on the first module determines the difficulty of the second, so the test adapts to your level in real time.

Timing

Reading & Writing gives you 64 minutes across two modules; Math gives you 70 minutes. In total, the exam runs about 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Question types

Reading & Writing covers information & ideas, craft & structure, expression of ideas, and standard English conventions. Math covers algebra, advanced math, problem-solving & data analysis, and geometry & trigonometry.

Built-in tools

You get an on-screen graphing calculator (Desmos) for the entire Math section, plus a reference sheet, timer, and the ability to flag questions.
